We are a non-profit charity organization initiated in Jersey City, New Jersey. It began in an effort to support athletes and families associated with the Jersey City Softball, Baseball, and Little Leagues faced with financial hardship while battling Cancer. We started this journey with Maribel Rodriguez, who has long been associated with the Jersey City softball leagues from an early age as a cheerleader, the daughter of a team manager/softball player, and now the wife of a softball player. Her family experienced financial hardship due to the many dynamics that come into play when facing this horrible disease. What was meant to be a one day softball tournament fundraiser event in her honor, has turned into a locally well-known annual softball tournament. We are proud to say that thus far we have provided financial assistance to 22 individuals and their families!
We commit ourselves to a simple, yet very important mission, and that is to help families in financial hardship due to a cancer illness. Our fundraisers encompass annual softball tournament fundraisers, donations, sponsorship, as well as other community held fundraisers organized by us or by other groups willing to donate to our organization.
All monies raised help pay monthly rents, utilities, and/or the medical bills of recipients chosen by our board members yearly through an application process. Our goal is to pay their rent and utilities up to at least a year. But we cannot do this alone; we need your help! Together we can ensure these families aren't agonized over making ends meet. Let's give them comfort and support!
Please know that our founders and board members do not profit one cent from monies raised. We are a team of humanitarians volunteering our time and efforts, while wearing our hearts on our sleeves with compassion and love for mankind.
You will not find another organization like us. We are dedicated to helping and providing Cancer victims with financial assistance. We encourage you to join us in this very important cause. Do not hesitate or pass up the opportunity to help those in need while they fight for their lives. "Hoy Por Ti, Mañana Por Mí!" Translation: Today you're helping someone, tomorrow they might be helping you.
Hudson County residents that have been diagnosed with cancer and in financial hardship may apply for assistance. You may contact us to be considered as a recipient of our fundraising efforts. Please be advised we do not provide cash assistance. We provide assistance mainly for rent, mortgage, and utilities payments. These are payable directly to the property management or mortgage company, and the utility companies on your behalf from donations received and our fundraising efforts.
